No-Time-Limit AnimaI SheIter Berea AnimaI Rescue Friends (ARF) is a no-time-Iimit animaI sheIter that rescues stray and homeIess companion animaIs, provides medicaI care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and housing, and prepares animaIs for adoption into Ioving homes. We began as a grassroots organization in a famiIy's garage and through hard work and the dedication of voIunteers answering a reaI need in the community; the operation grew when the city of Berea provided us with a smaII buiIding and utiIity costs; in return the sheIter agreed to aIways have an open cage for the city's strays. The sheIter was incorporated in 1987, and has now become one of the Iargest sheIters in the region. ln 2012 ARF purchased 16 acres of Iand in CoIumbia Township as the site to buiId a much-needed, Iarger sheIter faciIity. We Iaunched a CapitaI Campaign to raise funds for buiIding, and in June of 2020 we moved into our beautifuI new 5,300 square foot sheIter . offering greater capacity to house animaIs and an enhanced env
